eziTracker Biotouch

The eziTracker Biotouch is a variant of the eziTracker iButton that offers the additional security benefits of a biometric scanner. Offering instant login capability, it’s another useful alternative to the telephone for logging time & attendance on the eziTracker service. The added identification safeguard of a biometric device make it particularly well suited for situations where extra levels of security are required.

How it works

The eziTracker Biotouch is housed in a neat unobtrusive terminal which is normally mounted on a wall. Staff login and logout of eziTracker by running their index finger across a thin strip containing a laser reader. This captures a partial image of the individual’s fingerprint.

Each fingerprint credential has a unique and unalterable identity which is stored on an eziTracker database and used by eziTracker to identify individuals using the system. (The device only stores selected points of an individual fingerprint and so the system satisfies UK data protection requirements). When registered users swipe their finger across the Biotouch device their credential is read and checked instantaneously. Visual and audio indicators provide immediate login/logout confirmation to the user. Attendance details for the individual are recorded instantly and sent to eziTracker in real time. All data is made available for authorised management in exactly the same fashion as it is with the eziTracker fixed line service.

As with the eziTracker iButton, the instantaneous login/logout afforded by this device makes it appropriate for locations where a number of staff may be arriving or leaving at the same time, thus avoiding any possible delay if multiple staff had to login/logout using a single fixed line phone.

The key USP of the Biotouch is the additional level of security that comes with a biometric device.

The system uses the mobile phone network and so can be used at locations where no fixed line telephone is available. No connection to a Local Area Network is necessary.
